Smiles and Miles

As promised, we have smile pictures of Kyle for you this week. Both babies are becoming more and more responsive, rewarding us daily with smiles and coos, but their individuality is becoming more and more evident. Kyle loves to give us precious smiles, and Brock talks to us on a regular basis. It is a joy to wake up in the morning and go into their room when we hear them on the monitor. Both babies wake up very happy and greet us with smiles. It's so exciting that they are happy to see us. It's also exciting for us as they are sleeping for longer stretches all the time. Kyle went a record 8 hours in-between feedings last night. Brock woke Daddy up in time to be awake to feel the earthquake. Daddy thought he was going crazy, but we were all glad to find out that he wasn't when we heard about it on the morning news.

Last weekend we put a lot of miles on the mini-van, and the babies put alot of miles on their carseats. We drove to Cissna Park on Friday evening for a visitation, then to Princeville on Saturday for a shower thrown by Mommy's aunts and cousins. It was quite a bit of time on the road, but the babies did well. They slept most of the time, except for the last 20 minutes on the way home Saturday evening when Brock decided that he had enough of the car seat and was hungry!! Mommy and Daddy were never so glad to be home as they were that evening.

Special thank you to all of the Martin and Michel cousins and aunts for the fun shower and the wonderful gifts. It was great to see everyone and fun to introduce you to Brock and Kyle!!

The babies also had their 2 month check-ups and got their first round of immuizations last Thursday. Brock weighed in at 9lb 2oz, and Kyle weighed in at 11 lb 4 oz. The doctor said that Brock may just be more petite than Kyle, and Mommy and Daddy laughed because they can't figure out where that would have come from!!:) They handled their shots like troopers, which was a relief for mommy and daddy.
