Happy 3rd Birthday, Brock and Kyle!!

I can't believe it , but my babies are 3 years old!! Tuesday, February 8th was the official "big day", but the celebration started the weekend before. They are SO into firetrucks, firefighters, fire stations, hydrants, and anything fire related, so that was the theme for their family party on Saturday. Here are some pics of all of the festivities:

The cake - this was the first real birthday cake that they've had - this frugal momma has always opted for homemade cupcakes until now - but it was money well spent. They LOVED the cake, and so did the adults - it was red velvet with cream cheese icing from Janet's cakes - so yummy!!!

They also each had their own little cake because even though I had talked them into "wanting" a red velvet cake (which they really do like:), when you would ask them what type of cake they wanted for their birthday, they would consistently say "white cake!" (thanks a lot, Ruthie).
So like any good Grammy, my mom called and ordered the extra cakes (white with white frosting) so they wouldn't be disappointed:).

Then, Aunt Kara found these cool little fire truck/emergency sets in the Denver airport on her way home to celebrate. They just made it even more fun for the boys.

Then on Sunday, we had our annual gathering with the Michel family (my mom's family) to celebrate all of the birthdays. My Mom has 2 brothers who each have a set of twin grandchildren. All are born in February, and they all have their birthdays within 3 days of each other. Two of the sets (Brock & Kyle and Andrew & Elizabeth) actually share the same birthday - how cool is that?!?!?! These are almost all of the Michel great-grandchildren (2 were missing) and they are all growing up to be such great kids. My Grandma Michel would be amazed with this little crew as she only got to meet 1 of her great-grand kids (if I remember correctly).

Here are 4 sets of twins - in my family (yes, there are more:). How could I have ever not known that this was my destiny:)??

After having some leftover birthday cake, Brock disappeared and I found him here - playing with his new train. It was a big 4 days of celebration and they loved every minute of it. They're already asking when they will turn 4 so they can have more parties and presents:).
